Juan David Castaño – Class: Percussion and language of the “bailes cantados" of the Colombian Caribbean
We will study rhythms and traditional “airs” from the Colombian Caribbean like cumbia, mapalé, tambora, chandé, and bullerengue. We will go through some context information as their history, geography, and the culture they belong to.
We will work on traditional instruments like the “tambor alegre”, the tambora, the “llamador”, maracas or the “guache”.
Course I: One 2-hour-long class (It includes a playlist of video clips, documentaries, and a tutorial).
Course II: Four 1-hour-long classes (It includes a playlist of video clips, documentaries, and a tutorial).

Requirements: knowledge of video-editing apps like Acapella, Kine Master or any other one that helps us edit and record exercises on video.
